Make any night pizza night! Air Fryer Pizza is ready in less than ten minutes and the pizza toppings are completely up to you.
I originally published this pizza recipe in 2018. And since then I’ve upgraded my air fryer. I’ve also made a lot of air fryer pizzas. I’m convinced these are the best quick pizzas you can make. So much superior to any frozen pizza you could buy.

These are perfect for after school snacks. They’re great for pizza night. Everyone can make their own. And most importantly, I figured out how to keep the pizza from “flying around” in the air fryer.
Why this recipe works
The biggest improvement I made in this recipe since originally publishing it in 2018 is using air fryer paper liners. This solves two issues. The biggest one being, flying pizzas. I’d gotten several reader comments saying their pizza crust and or cheese would blow around in the air fryer. By using these paper liners, it blocks enough of the air flow that these pizzas stay intact as they are cooking.
It also makes these pizzas completely individual and mess free. These pizzas are also great for a party. Give each person their own liner and crust. Set out a variety of toppings. Then everyone can make their own pizza. And if a little bit of topping spills off the side, the paper liner catches everything. These papers are such a great solution for making air fryer pizza!
Ingredients for air fryer pizza
This list of ingredients is just a starting point for the types of pizzas that you can create in your air fryer.
- Naan Bread – I’ve tried several different types of crust. I always come back to Naan. I love the Stonegate mini naan bread that I can easily find at my Kroger. They come four to a package and each one only has 150 calories. Plus they taste so good! They are as close as you can get to tasting like you made these pizzas from homemade pizza dough.
- Pizza Sauce – Use your favorite brand of sauce.
- Mozzarella Cheese – I like using pre-shredded mozzarella cheese. You could also choose to use a pizza blend of cheese.
- Pepperoni – This is just one topping choice. I love pepperoni pizza. But one of my new favorites is Hawaiian. I make them just like Donato’s does. Pizza sauce, cheese, chopped ham, pineapple tidbits, sliced almonds, cinnamon and a drizzle of honey on top. This may not be your cup of tea. But I’m sharing so you can see how creative you can be with these pizzas.
Instructions for making air fryer pizza
These pizzas could not be simpler to make. Place a naan bread in an air fryer paper liner. Top it with sauce and sprinkle it with cheese. Top it with pepperoni or your favorite pizza toppings. Sprinkle a little more cheese on top. And then air fry the pizza, in the paper liner. 375 degrees F for 6 – 8 minutes.
FAQ’s
Is it better to air fry or bake pizza?
If individual pizzas can work for you, the texture of these pizzas just can’t be achieved in a home oven. I much prefer making air fryer pizzas at home to get that perfect, crispy crust. But the size of your air fryer basket means only one pizza can cook at a time. So obviously, homemade oven-baked pizzas have their place. Here is one of my favorite recipes for oven baked pizza.
Can I cook a frozen pizza in an air fryer?
Yes. An air fryer in my opinion is also the best kitchen tool for cooking frozen foods. You actually cook a frozen pizza at basically the same time and temperature as these. But trust me, these pizzas taste so much better than any frozen pizza you can buy.
Storage directions
These are individual size pizzas, so you’ll likely not have any leftover pizza. But if you do, wrap them in plastic wrap or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. You can reheat these pizzas in the air fryer at 350 degrees F for 3-4 minutes. You can also store the naan bread in your freezer to keep them fresh and on-hand for pizza any time.
Serving suggestions
There are so many topping options for these pizzas! Roasted garlic, fresh basil, mushrooms, bell pepper, bacon, sausage, red pepper flakes, black or green olives, ham, pineapple, roasted chicken, artichoke hearts, etc.
Set out a variety of fresh veggies and dip with these pizzas. Or serve them with your favorite salad.

Shivli says
Love this! The top of my pizza browned beautifully but the bottom did not. Any ideas of what I did wrong?
foodtasticmom says
Not sure. I think there are a variety of air-fryers. Ours don’t get super crispy on the bottom either. But I still feel like I’m eating a pizza.
Donn Leyba says
If you have a Phillips Airfryer it Brown is on the bottom, The Philips air fryer was my second Airfryer I have to now I never understood why it cost $200 more than the others but now I do
Christian says
If you oil both sides of Naan or tortilla and put in air fryer for about 6 minutes it will get crisp. Then add your toppings and cook again for about 6 minutes more.
foodtasticmom says
Great suggestion, thank you!

Kim says
How do you keep the cheese from flying around? I want to try this but I did try a grilled cheese sandwich and the top bread and cheese moved with the air blowing around.
foodtasticmom says
Really? I know there are a lot of different brands and styles of air fryers. I have never had an issue with things flying around in mine! I have a Cozyna brand…
Pati says
My air fryer fan is very strong also & I use toothpicks as I read in a air fryer cookbook. It works great, try it.
foodtasticmom says
Great tip – thank you for sharing!
Marleen says
We had the same problem and we got an 8 inch round cooling rack to put over the pizza. It was suggested in a recipe and it helped a lot.

You just made my night. This recipe and this recipe ( https://slice.seriouseats.com/2011/08/the-pizza-lab-how-to-make-new-england-greek-style-pizza-at-home.html) …well minus the homemade sauce ( Shout out to Don Pepinos Pizza sauce!). This had me SOOO nostalgic of my high school years, I was compelled to listen to Tiffany songs!
As I write this I’m waiting for a call back from my surgeon regarding the treatment of this cancer…for the fourth time. While simultaneously trying to figure out how to tell my elementary aged daughter that Mommy’s cancer back.

Cancer sucks! Sending positive thoughts to you at this difficult time. Keep fighting. And eating pizza 🙂
Vanessa says
Can I use can biscuits. And if so how long to cook and temp
foodtasticmom says
The biscuit dough is raw. They cook quickly because I have used them in the air fryer to make donut bites. Based on that recipe it took 5 minutes at 350 for the biscuits to cook. I’m concerned that for pizza a whole biscuit might be too thick? Maybe cut them in half crossways to make a thinner crust? Let me know if you try it!
Tiffini says
Just made this tonight! I tried to make 2 at once but the one on the bottom didn’t brown as much so I had to put it back in. So quick and easy! Such a great idea! I didn’t use pepperoni and used slices of fresh mozzarella for my version of margarita pizza.
foodtasticmom says
So glad to hear this. Thank you for taking the time to rate and comment!

I don’t suppose you can use fresh pizza dough? Thoughts.
foodtasticmom says
I haven’t tried it. I feel like now I need to! My initial thought is no, but let me try it and I’ll come back and let you know what happened…
Rae Ann Woodrow says
This was a great idea, but I”m low carb/keto, so I used your basic idea and improvised. El Banderito makes a snack size tortilla that was a perfect fit in my 7qt air fryer. I used low carb pizza sauce (Rao’s or DelGrosso are amazing), some Italian sausage I had already browned and drained, a few sliced mushrooms, and mozzarella and parmesan to top it. I placed my pizza on a small square of parchment paper in the fryer basket and there was NO MESS to clean up. 6 minutes was pizza perfection!

Great idea for making a quick pizza in the air fryer! I will definitely give this a try. There are so many ways to adapt this recipe, as well, with different toppings. Thanks for sharing!
foodtasticmom says
Exactly, so many ways to customize these pizzas. You’re welcome!
Ginger says
That is waaay more than 2 tablespoons of cheese in the before picture.
Just made this, with pesto, mozz and left over chicken. Excellent.
foodtasticmom says
Haha, I do just eyeball ingredients a lot. I guess the amount of cheese was wishful thinking on my part 🙂 Glad you enjoyed it, with the correct (and generous) amount of cheese!
Sara says
Our family has made this several times, we brown the naan 3-4 minutes at 375, then add the toppings and cook for 4-6 more minutes. This is a wonderful recipe, thank you for sharing it!
foodtasticmom says
That’s a great idea to brown the naan first before adding the toppings. Thanks for sharing your tip. I’m happy your family likes this recipe!
