Ingredients for chicken bacon ranch sliders recipe
- King’s Hawaiian Rolls – I use the savory butter variety of these popular slider buns for this recipe. I prefer them over the Hawaiian sweet rolls for this flavor combination.
- Rotisserie Chicken – Precooked shredded chicken is perfect for this recipe. Especially if you have leftover chicken from another recipe. You could also cook your own chicken following this recipe.
- Crispy Bacon – I prefer to oven bake my bacon. I also use some of the bacon grease for coating the bottom of the baking dish and brushing the tops of each sandwich.
- Ranch Dressing – The quality of the creamy ranch dressing you choose is important here. Litehouse Homestyle Ranch is by far my favorite bottled dressing. Or you could go a step further and make your own homemade ranch dressing.
- Ranch Seasoning – A little dry ranch dressing dip mix stirred into the melted butter gives these sandwiches such good flavor.
- Italian Seasoning – Adds more herbal flavor to the butter mixture.
- Butter – A little melted butter helps to keep the sandwiches from sticking to the baking dish and flavors the buns.
- Cheese – Your choice of cheese is up to you. I prefer thinly sliced Munster for the melty cheese layers. You can also use Colby jack or sharp cheddar cheese.
Instructions for this easy recipe
Cook the bacon so it’s crispy. Melt the butter and mix in about a tablespoon of the bacon drippings. Then stir in a teaspoon each of ranch dressing mix and Italian seasoning.
Slice the buns in half with a sharp knife. Brush a little of the butter mixture on the bottom a 9×13 baking dish. Place the bottom buns in the dish. Top them with four slices of cheese.
In a large bowl, stir together the cooked chicken, crumbled bacon and ranch dressing. Evenly spread the chicken filling on top of the first layer of cheese. Top the chicken with another four slices of cheese. Then place the top half of the buns to finish the sandwiches.
Brush the butter mixture evenly over the top half of the rolls. Cover the dish of assembled sandwiches with aluminum foil. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted. Serve immediately.

Pro tips
- I bake the sandwiches covered with foil the entire time. I think they get too dried out if left uncovered in the oven.
- Don’t skip the step of buttering the baking dish! You don’t want your sliders to stick to the dish.
- Sliders reheat well. Store them in an airtight container for 2-3 days. Then microwave for about 30 – 45 seconds to reheat.
Serving suggestions
Definitely serve these sliders with celery sticks and extra ranch dressing for dipping. If you’re hosting a party, here’s some more easy appetizers to serve along with the sliders –
Storage directions
Store any leftover sliders in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days. You can also assembled the sandwiches ahead of time (but don’t brush them with butter). Once assembled, wrap them tightly in plastic wrap and store in a freezer-safe zippered bag for up to one month. When ready to serve, allow them to thaw in the refrigerator overnight. Then make the butter mixture and follow the recipe directions.
