Air Fryer Ham Steaks turns slices of ham into an impressive and easy dinner or sandwich platter for a party in just a few minutes.
How often do you think about serving ham for a weeknight dinner? I usually think of ham for the holidays. And judging by the huge line outside of my local Honeybaked Ham right before Christmas, most everyone else does too. But ham is sold in thick slices at the store all year long. These are known as “ham steaks”. They are very affordable and so quick to make, especially in the air fryer. Top with a little honey, butter and seasoned salt glaze, they are tasty and look impressive on a plate. Another way to serve these is for a small party, with rolls and fancy lettuce to make sandwiches.

Ingredients for Air Fryer Ham Steaks
- Ham Steaks – Ham steaks range in thickness from 3/8 to 1 inch and are usually oval in shape. The thicker your ham steaks, the longer you’ll need to cook them in the air fryer to make sure they heated all the way through
- Butter
- Honey
- Brown Sugar
- Seasoned Salt
- Cinnamon
How to make Air Fryer Ham Steaks
Place ham steaks in a single layer in the basket of your air fryer. Cook them at 400 degrees F for about 5 minutes.
While the ham steaks are cooking, melt the butter in a glass Pyrex measuring cup or microwave-safe dish until melted. Whisk the honey, brown sugar, seasoned salt and cinnamon into the melted butter.
Flip over the ham steaks and brush then with the melted butter mixture. Cook the ham again at 400 degrees F for an additional 3 – 4 minutes until the ham steaks are browned and heated through.
Depending on how many ham steaks you want, you’ll likely have to make them in batches. Heat your oven to 200 degrees F. Place the air fried ham steaks on an oven-safe platter or a sheet pan lined with foil in the oven to keep them warm until ready to serve.
Kitchen Tips
- I use a Philips XXL Air Fryer to test all of my recipes
- Use a silicone pastry brush to coat the ham steaks with the butter mixture
- Serve ham steaks with rice pilaf or scalloped potatoes, creamed spinach or green beans

The air fryer continually blow my mind. We used leftover ham cut into steaks to make this recipe and they were absolutely perfect!

This was really tasty. I also air fried some pineapple slices as a side dish. I doubled the glaze and brushed the pineapple slices, too.

Great idea to air fry pineapple with the ham and make extra glaze! Thank you for sharing this tip!
